The ODST 501st has recently been going through major activity problems. I must admit that in general, just about everyone has played a part in contributing to the problem, the staff included.
From this point on if you are going to be absent for more than 3 days send a general notice to both the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer to inform them of why you are unable to fulfill your responsibilities. Also, you'll need to include an expected return date. If unable to return by then you must repeat the process within 3 days of your expected return date.

Well for those of you that know me I've been a long time supporter of xbox and I've always defended the fact that I enjoy having xbox as my primary gaming system. Though here in the past several days I've been re-evaluating that decision. I'm definitely considering switching to PC as my gaming system of choice. This doesn't mean I'd quit on xbox all together. It simply means that game I generally end up playing alone anyways I'd be buying for the PC instead of for console. So I'd still be getting Halo and Call of Duty and basically any other game that I buy for multiplayer for Xbox.

So fellow clan members this is the part of my log where I let you in on my actual life rather than telling you about clan stuff. I'm not sure how much you all already know about me so I'll go ahead and give you some background on me as a person so you can get to know me a little better and so you'll know where I'm coming from.

I just wanted to clarify what the MOS's are intended to do. Keep in mind that while Commissioned Officers are in charge of each MOS at the moment, they have other responsibilities to the clan other than fulfilling the job requirements for each MOS they are assigned to. If you are an enlisted member (or when it comes time to promote members to warrant officer) it's your responsibility to make sure that the requirements of your MOS get taken care of. The Commissioned Officers have responsibilities that will not be covered by an MOS and will be expected to fulfill those and not something covered in... |
Well I'd like to start out by saying that out of the active members this is one of the best set of members we've had in a long time. I'd like to continue adding members much like what we already have. There I believe that it's important to continue expanding our clan through recruitment and building relations with other clans.
My over all plan is to eventually have 1 warrant officer for each MOS we have. However, we need a lot more members than what we have now. Every member in the clan right now will more than likely hold one of those officer positions. We need to build 4 new members... |

Introduce yourself
In your threads be sure to let people know who you are and what your position in the clan is. Believe it or not your rank can make all the difference in how people view the same message. An officer posting shows the reliability in the information where as an enlisted shows that the clan is worth joining from the enlisted stand point. The wider variety of ranks seen recruiting with the same basic message the more people are going to be drawn in by what the clan has... |

Just to update everyone on what's been going on.
In the general discussion section of the forum I've posted recruitment message templates. These templates were modified from a template that was posted in a clan that though dead now due to lack of leadership had a great recruitment record using this template. I've modified the template to be relevant to the 501st.

Well you may have noticed that there's been a few changes to the site.
I've finally worked my way around the issue I was having with not being able to change the PM button. It now matches the other buttons in the navigation bar.
Also, Major Gremlin has put together a new banner for us. As it was the only banner submitted and it was much better than the one we already had, It has become the new banner for the site. +30 Merit to Gremlin.
I'll be working on setting up new features, and making this site a better place for the clan. |
There will be a staff meeting on friday night starting at 2200 (10) central time. All Officer and the Command Sergeant Major are expected to attend. We will be discussing: - Getting members reregistered on the site
- number of position openings for each rank. This will be important for members wanting promotions.
- Recruiting Methods
- Activity Regulations and Stricter guidelines for dealing with inactivity.

Well I'm sure you don't hear many people say this, but I LOVE my job. Most people don't are inside all the time when they're working, and they constantly have supervisors looking over their shoulder. If you don't know, I work with the WKU Police Department as an Explorer. It's not like that with my job. 95% of my job is spent outside walking around. It's also a very individual based job. I'm not constantly being watched by my supervisors. I definitely meet a lot of interesting people on the job, and I see a lot of interesting things on the job. Tomorrow is the Anniversary of the the attacks by Al Qaeda on the world trade centers and the pentagon. Al Qaeda operatives boarded and hi-jacked 4 American Planes. 2 of them hit their targets at the world trade center, another hit it'd target (the pentagon), the fourth had been intended for the white house. It never reached it's target because several brave Americans fought back and retook the plane. The plane crashed into a field in pennsylvania. Thousands were killed in the attacks which lead us into this war. Take time tomorrow to remember what we're fighting for. Don't forget the many Americans... |
