They Drop Us, To Drop Them! |
Attention all 501st members. There are several reforms being made to the over all structure and operations of the clan. 1Lt Teh Newbz and 2Lt Hoshk are the two officers that will be taking charge of most of the reformations. Newbz will be focusing on personnel reform issue such as the way the clan is structured. If you'd like to provide feedback pass that information up to him. Hoshk is focusing in on operational reforms and has been tasked with trying to set up a training event, clan match, and a social event each month. If you have ideas that you'd like to see come up at future events let him know. These ideas can be training ideas, social ideas, or if you know of a clan that would be interested in a clan match he's the one to contact.

| This idea I have, came from some research I was doing on military stuff for further work on my story. I personally think we should come up with some sort of, system. The Battalion is easily recognised as being owned by Skirata, but what about more. How about 4 Platoons (or less); commanded by Hoshk, Yeti, Gremlin and Newbz. Each Platoon consists of 2 Squads, each squad consisting of 3 Fireteams. Yes, we may not have enough numbers at the time being for this whole thing but hey, it's an idea. We do probably have enough for one Platoon at least.
This idea backs up a little double-team system we did waiting for the AI Clan battle; we were assorted into teams and put service tags as military callsigns. This idea promotes squad training; a Platoon leader can train his entire Platoon, a Squad leader his Squad and a Fireteam Leader his Fireteam. Being that I constantly say "his", I'm not saying that we can't have a female leading one, it's just that at the moment I don't want to make this a long-as-hell post.

| We used to have this structure and we're in the process of rebuilding that, hence why im Platoon Leader Warning: Be respectful, we have a female now, if she leads one, get over it | |

| What he said.
And Ghost, don't you think you're being a little over-protective of FallenAngel?

| As ghost said the staff are already in the process of getting a system like that set back up. though we won't organize units to anything smaller than the squad level. If the squad leader wants to divide their squad like that they may do so but it's not going to be an official unit. | |

| I believe what Dashi was saying is that in his post he kept using the possessive pronouns in the masculine form (i.e. his) but he wasn't in anyway saying that a female couldn't lead a unit. | |

| Me Gusta. I know I've said it a million times but small, tight teams with real teamwork is incredibly effective. How big are these squads going to be then? I suggest maybe 4-6 with NCOs as squad leaders under the platoon officer. | |

| 4-6 people with an NCO in charge. The Squad leaders will answer up to their Platoon Sergeant. If the platoon sergeant is answering up to an officer it is always the platoon leader. If he's answering up to an NCO it's the Company First Sergeant. It's the same kind of deal with the First Sergeant. He can answer up to the Company Commander or He can answer up to the Command Sergeant Major or Sergeant Major who in turn answers to me. | |
